Zeekaarten uit de 16e eeuw

Een cd met zeekaarten, opgetekend halverwege de 16e eeuw. De Spieghel der Zeevaerdt; de Enkhuizer stuurman Lucas Janszoon Waghenaer (ca. 1533-1606) voltooide omstreeks 1580 het eerste deel van zijn Spieghel der Zeevaerdt, een jaar later verscheen deel II. Alle kaarten (46 stuks) uit beide delen staan op deze cdrom. Ook op de cdrom een digitale versie van de atlas van Battista Agnese. Zijn atlas uit 1544 bevat 10 opmerkelijk nauwkeurige zeekaarten. 16th century Seamaps

The first milestone in the development of maritime cartography in the Northern Netherlands is the work of Lucas Jansz Waghenaer (1533/34-1606). In 1584 this former pilot from the coastal port of Enkhuizen published his Spieghel der Zeevaerdt, a guide for navigators containing a complete collection of large-scale printed sea charts for the whole area regularly sailed by Dutch ships. On this cd all the 46 maps from the Spieghel der Zeevaerdt. Also on this cd a digital version of the sea atals of Battista Agnese. His work from 1544 contains 10 very detailed sea maps.
